| | | | | | | | Posted: | Jan 8, 2013-8:30 AM | | | By: | dragon53(Member) | TUESDAY, JANUARY 8 GODZILLA---Frank Darabont (THE WALKING DEAD, THE GREEN MILE) will rewrite the script for the reboot movie. Henry Cavill, Scott McNairy and Caleb Landry Jones are reported to be the top candidates for the lead role. SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR---Joseph Gordon-Levitt will play a lead role as a gambler. He turned down offers to star in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY and GODZILLA to appear in the sequel. Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Bruce Willis, Clive Owen, Dennis Haysbert and Rosario Dawson also star. SECRET SERVICE---Hailee Steinfeld (TRUE GRIT), Connie Nielsen (GLADIATOR) and Amber Heard (THE PLAYBOY CLUB) will co-star with Kevin Costner in this untitled movie about a dying, ex-Secret Service agent who goes on one last mission in exchange for an experimental drug that might save his life. Luc Besson (TAKEN, LEON THE PROFESSIONAL) co-wrote the script. AT THE MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS---Guillermo del Toro said he's still trying to develop his movie starring Tom Cruise based on the HP Lovecraft horror tale, "I'm going to try it one more time. Once more into the dark abyss. We're gonna do a big presentation of the project again at the start of the year and see if any [studio's] interested ... Tom is still attached. I think it would be so fantastic to make it with him. He's been such a great ally of the project." Del Toro said he was approached to direct STAR WARS: EPISODE VII, "We got one phone call to my agent saying, 'Is Guillermo interested?'. He said he turned down the interest because, "...basically I have so much stuff already of my own, and I'm pursuing stuff that I'm generating already." He also confirmed he's working on the DC Comics DARK UNIVERSE movie and hinted it will feature Swamp Thing, The Demon, John Constantine, Deadman, The Spectre, Zatara and Zantanna. TWIN PEAKS---NBC president of entertainment Jennifer Salke denied rumors it is developing a remake of the series, but then said the rumors gave them the idea of considering a remake, "I called everybody when I got the email. None of us had gotten a call about that, not from an agent, not from the writer, not the head of drama …When it came up we all looked at each other and said, 'That's a good idea'. We were all kind of like, 'Hmm, we like “Twin Peaks”'! So, I'll send some emails today, and see what I can get to come in." THE WINTER QUEEN---movie underway based on the novel set in 1886 Russia where a police detective investigates the suicides of wealthy young men and uncovers a plot of global domination. Milla Jovovich, Anjelica Huston and David Thewlis star. SHADOW OF THE COLOSSUS---movie underway at Sony Pictures based on the PlayStation 2 video game. Josh Trank (CHRONICLE) is the director. PONTIUS PILATE---biomovie underway with Brad Pitt being the top candidate to star. THE WALKING DEAD---issue #100 was the best-selling comic book of 2012. IN LIVING COLOR---Fox canceled the reboot series after being unhappy with the pilot. THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE III---Dieter Laser, who played Dr. Heiter in the previous movies, returns to play a new character. The third movie will have a 500-people centipede and include "a big American celebrity". | | | | | | | | | | Posted: | Jan 8, 2013-10:20 AM | | | By: | The Man-Eating Cow(Member) | THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE III---Dieter Laser, who played Dr. Heiter in the previous movies, returns to play a new character. Apparently Lohan demanded a mouth double as she wouldn't kiss Charlie Sheen for Scary Movie 5-I couldn't imagine she'd like to be sewn mouth to arse!! | | | | | | | | | | Posted: | Jan 8, 2013-5:31 PM | | | By: | losher22(Member) | THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE III---Dieter Laser, who played Dr. Heiter in the previous movies, returns to play a new character. I read several months ago that director Tom Sixx was suing Laser due to backing out of a contract or something like that. Hopefully that crisis has abated, because Laser was effing awesome in the first flick. | | | | | | | Posted: | Jan 8, 2013-5:34 PM | | | By: | Olivier(Member) | TUESDAY, JANUARY 8 TWIN PEAKS---NBC president of entertainment Jennifer Salke denied rumors it is developing a remake of the series, but then said the rumors gave them the idea of considering a remake, "I called everybody when I got the email. "We liked it, so let's celebrate it by creating a stupid remake of it!" The only thing that would be considering is a continuation (by Lynch himself, of course), as Thor said. There was talk of a comic book continuation a few years ago, incidentally. | | | | | | | | | | Posted: | Jan 8, 2013-8:35 PM | | | By: | Mr Greg(Member) | I read several months ago that director Tom Sixx was suing Laser due to backing out of a contract or something like that. Yes...I read something similar - that Laser backerd out as he didn't like what was being done with his character (!), but looks like it has at least become amicable...and yes, Laser was cracking in the first one...scarily, the role he was born to play I think!! Part II remains banned in the UK apart from an apallingly edited version available on DVD...I...just....wonder if the BBFC really thought that stopped many people! But that's another thread...for another board....ahem.... | | | | | | | | | | Posted: | Jan 8, 2013-9:53 PM | | | By: | BobJ(Member) | Lynch has said Twin Peaks is dead. Mark Snow said he had once considered doing a book to finish up the series but he's no interest now. The movie more or less tells us everything we need to know about how the show ends. The thing is over. A reboot would be made to placate the lowest scum alive by bastardizing something unique. But but... money. | | | | | | | | | | Posted: | Jan 9, 2013-11:26 AM | | | By: | Clark Wayne(Member) | GODZILLA---Frank Darabont (THE WALKING DEAD, THE GREEN MILE) will rewrite the script for the reboot movie. Henry Cavill, Scott McNairy and Caleb Landry Jones are reported to be the top candidates for the lead role. Please tell me it WON'T involve born-pregnant JP ripoff babyzillas and piles of tuna. I should think not-I'm sure that lesson was learned. | | | | | | | | | | | | | Posted: | Jan 9, 2013-1:02 PM | | | By: | BobJ(Member) | Okay, I'm a bit confused. Is this supposed to be a fresh American take on Gojira, or just another attempt with "American 'Zilla"? I am not a 100% sure of this, but I did read that this is a joint Japan/America production and that this film will be in continuity with a new series of Godzilla films that will come out in Japan later. So if that is true, this will be actual Godzilla canon. | | | | | | | Posted: | Jan 9, 2013-6:39 PM | | | By: | Joe E.(Member) | TUESDAY, JANUARY 8 GODZILLA---Frank Darabont (THE WALKING DEAD, THE GREEN MILE) will rewrite the script for the reboot movie. The 1950s original is okay (I've only seen the US version with Raymond Burr edited into it), but it's overwise a franchise I've never been able to get into or really see the appeal of. That said, while the 1998 Gozdilla has its share of problems, I thought it was easily better than any of others. I'm surprised they're trying to make another one. It just seems like US audiences simply aren't into the "giant monster" movies the way Japanese audiences are.
